Our Past

In 1997, Lowell Reese, then editor and publisher of The Kentucky Gazette, launched the Kentucky OSHA Journal. He believed providing businesses and industry with expert advice and easy access to information about shared problems could save businesses money and create better, safer environments for workers.

When Laura Cullen Glasscock took over The Kentucky Gazette from Lowell in 2007, she continued working with him on the Kentucky OSHA Journal. Later, as publisher of
Kentucky OSHA Journal, she carried on Lowell’s commitment to providing Kentucky businesses with important information on workplace safety.
Our Future

Leo Haggerty purchased the Kentucky OSHA Journal in September 2018 and plans to run it under his TCHQ Communications banner. Haggerty’s years of management experience in media and business include work with such Fortune 500 companies as Thorn EMI and The Musicland Group.
Leo is also a certified crisis manager and has worked with businesses and non-profits, large and small, to prepare for and handle crises of all types and sizes.
“I see the Kentucky OSHA Journal as a natural extension of the crisis management work we have been doing,” Haggerty said. “Lowell and Laura set the bar, and we look forward to building on the work they have done.”
Haggerty has laid out an aggressive plan for the Kentucky OSHA Journal’s growth over the next 12 to 24 months. In addition to launching a website and Facebook and Twitter accounts, he plans to publish a FREE email newsletter, host Kentucky OSHA Journal-sponsored events and add more products and services to aid businesses in providing a safe, healthful workplace.
Our Mission
The Kentucky OSHA Journal mission remains the same as when Lowell Reese founded it back in 1997: To be Kentucky’s leading and most trusted voice in workplace safety.
